AI Transparency

Every piece of content created through GaugeWell’s Content Studio includes clear disclosure of how much of it was written by AI. This page explains what each number means and how to interpret them.

Why AI Transparency Matters

GaugeWell believes you should always know how your content was created. When content is delivered to you through the portal, we disclose the AI authorship percentage so you can make informed decisions about how to use, attribute, or further edit it.

The Three Numbers Explained

AI Authorship % (AI Info tab)

This is the authoritative number — the one shown to you on the portal.

It represents the percentage of the content that was written by AI at the time it was generated. A draft created entirely by AI starts at 100%. If a GaugeWell team member substantially rewrites the content by hand, they will lower this number to accurately reflect the actual AI contribution before sending it to you.

ValueMeaning
100%Fully AI-generated, unedited
70–99%AI-generated with minor human refinements
30–69%AI-assisted — significant human editing
0–29%Primarily human-written, AI used for structure or suggestions only

This number is set at generation time and updated manually by your content team when they make substantial edits. It does not change automatically based on minor formatting or punctuation corrections.

Similarity % (Editor toolbar)

This is an internal editing reference visible only to the GaugeWell team — you will not see this number on the portal.

It measures how similar the current text is to the original AI-generated version, using character-level comparison. 100% means the text is identical to what the AI produced; lower means more has been changed during editing.

This number does not affect the AI Authorship % shown to you. It is a live editing tool to help the content team track how much they have deviated from the original draft.

Unchanged % (Compare tab)

Also an internal reference visible only to the GaugeWell team.

It measures word-level overlap between the original AI draft and the current version — specifically, what percentage of words appear in both. It is shown in the side-by-side comparison view to help editors see at a glance how much of the original content has been preserved.

Like Similarity %, this does not affect the AI Authorship % shown to you.

What You See on the Portal

When content is delivered to you through the Client Portal, you will see:

  • AI Disclosure badge — indicates the content was created with AI assistance
  • AI Authorship % — the percentage set by your content team (see above)
  • Disclosure text — a plain-language statement such as “This content was created with AI assistance”

The placement of the disclosure (header, footer, or inline) is configured by your content team based on the content type.

GaugeWell does not suppress or hide AI disclosure. If content was AI-generated, it will always be labeled as such. The authorship percentage may be adjusted to reflect human editing, but the disclosure itself is always present.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I request fully human-written content?

Yes. Let your account manager know and they will flag drafts for human-first creation. The AI Authorship % will reflect this (typically 0–20%).

What if I edit the content myself after receiving it?

Once you edit content on your end, the AI Authorship % on file reflects the state at the time it was delivered to you. If you make substantial changes, you may want to note that for your own records.

Does GaugeWell use my content to train AI models?

No. Your content is not used to train any AI models. See our Privacy Policy  for details.
